Marijuana Business Litigation - Special Considerations

Posted By Charles Feldmann || 2-Nov-2016

Feldmann Nagel Cantafio & Song PLLC attorney Lisa Pittman, together with Attorney Lisa Dickinson of Dickinson Law Firm, PLLC in Spokane, Washington, are the authors of a new article which will soon be featured in an upcoming edition of the ABA’s TIPS Business Litigation Committee Newsletter. The article, entitled “Medical Business Litigation – Special Considerations,” discusses some of the unique legal issues that marijuana business owners face with the explosive growth of the marijuana industry. Currently, marijuana is now legal in some form in 25 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, with adult recreational use on the November 2016 ballot in California, Arizona, Massachusetts, and Maine. Because marijuana remains illegal at the federal level, there are a number of challenges that business owners must endure and which require the expertise of an attorney.

Ms. Pittman and Ms. Dickinson are Business Litigation Committee Vice-Chairs and are well versed in the many disputes that can arise in the context of a marijuana business. To read their commentary, including examples from some of the cases they have handled, please follow the link above.
